RE: Gerard Manley Hopkins: Prophet & Exile
I finally got a chance to read this beautiful novel about a poet I greatly admire, and I was truly blown away by Ron Hansen's intertwining of Hopkin's life story with the disaster of the Deutschland and the death of five young nuns. As always, Hansen does full justice to yet another profound subject while writing, as a New York Times reviewer once said of him, "with the voice of an angel."
