RE: A mad, wonderful adventure
Terrific summary of a great book. What ultimately makes "Redeemed" so compelling is the "dual conversion," from lawyer and soul-searcher to writer and devout Catholic. With a strong and smooth narrative voice, King dives deep, plumbing the depths of her past with honesty, and ascending the heights of conversion not in a euphoric glaze, but with a refreshing sincerity. Life doesn't end with conversion, and King's "new beginning" is not the end of her struggle. The refreshing beauty of a new perspective drives this book, and provides an inspiring reminder to those who take their faith for granted.
